Is Your CBD Really Organic?
We’ve been watching the CBD explosion very closely this year for obvious reasons. Our line of organic CBD products has been flying off the shelves quicker than I could have ever imagined. I say this as our CBD oil syringe supply dwindles only 2 months since we launched the website.
We’ve put an emphasis on product quality and we certainly want that to carry through in our messaging. Just because it’s an unregulated industry doesn’t mean we should take advantage and misrepresent our product. I only wish everyone else felt the same way.
To say the least, we are concerned with the FDA regulation among other things, especially with all the reports coming out about mislabelled products. The last thing we want is the FDA to have a crackdown on CBD sellers.
A recent study showed that many off the shelf CBD brands are mislabelled. All we need is one bad egg to spoil it for everyone. The USDA does not provide organic certification for cannabis companies yet, so when you buy organic CBD be sure to fact check the company’s claims.
Cannabis is a bio-accumulator, so it readily absorbs anything and everything in the soil around it. For this reason, it’s much more susceptible to pesticide and herbicide applications that other crops. For this reason, cannabis treated with pesticides could expose the end user to much high levels than other fruits and vegetables.
For this reason, you should always shop organic when it comes to CBD. Ask to see 3rd party lab tests and ask questions about the companies suppliers. They should be willing to provide some sort of validation of their claims via a customer service inquiry. If they don’t, that’s a red flag.
Pick a good brand and stick to it. There’s so many up and coming companies these days, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when shopping. Pick a few that you like and stick to them. Research brands before you try them to make sure the company looks legitimate. Go with your gut.
